Large diameter slewing bearings | LTZC Adds New 6-Meter Drilling and Milling Equipment to Boost Production Efficiency

LTZC, an integrated manufacturer of bearings and related products, recently completed the installation, commissioning, and production of its new 6-meter CNC drilling and milling equipment. This production line upgrade will comprehensively optimize the entire machining process for large diameter slewing bearings, solidifying LTZC's core strength as a global manufacturer of high-precision slewing bearings.

I. Capacity Expansion for Large-Diameter Slewing Bearings

1.1 Equipment Hardware Configuration Details

The newly commissioned 6-meter class CNC gantry drilling and milling machine was custom-developed specifically for large ring forgings; its worktable accommodates ring-shaped workpieces with an outer diameter of up to 6,000 mm. The equipment integrates multiple machining functions—including drilling, deep-hole processing, face milling, slotting, chamfering, and precision counterboring—making it suitable for processing the full range of large-diameter slewing bearings, including single-row ball, double-row ball, three-row roller, and crossed-roller types.

1.2 Addressing Common Manufacturing Challenges for Slewing Rings

Enhanced Slewing Bearing Precision

Traditional machine tools often lack integrated drilling and milling capabilities, requiring the bearing to be moved between separate drilling and milling machines for different stages. Each transfer necessitates machine readjustment and risks positioning errors, resulting in lower efficiency and compromised bearing precision. The new 6-meter drilling and milling machining center significantly improves the machining accuracy of high-precision bearings, fully meeting the rigorous installation standards required for bearings used in port hoisting machinery and tunnel boring machines (TBMs).

Increased Production Capacity and Shortened Delivery Times

The addition of this large-scale slewing bearing machining tool boosts process efficiency on the LTZC production line by 30%. This significantly shortens delivery times for high-volume orders, urgent projects, and custom bearings, enabling better service for urgent procurement needs in global marine engineering and mining projects.

Support for Non-Standard, Customized Bearing Production

LTZC manufactures not only standard slewing bearing models but also supports non-standard, customized bearing solutions. Many large-diameter bearings purchased by clients are non-standard models requiring specific customizations for lubrication grooves, mounting holes, and positioning holes. The introduction of this equipment further enhances LTZC’s capability to produce customized, high-precision bearings.

II. LTZC Slewing Bearing Manufacturer – Comprehensive Processing Equipment

13-meter large-scale CNC vertical lathe for slewing bearings: Handles rough machining of extra-large bearing rings, finish-turning of end faces, and rough turning of raceways; supports a maximum outer diameter of 13 meters, enabling the production of massive, non-standard, custom-designed slewing bearings.

5-meter high-precision CNC vertical lathe: Handles batch finish-machining of small-to-medium high-precision slewing bearings, ensuring strict control over raceway dimensional tolerances.

Newly added 6-meter CNC integrated drilling and milling machine: Performs drilling, slotting, and surface milling on rings up to 6 meters in diameter.

7-meter specialized raceway quenching machine: As the raceway is the critical load-bearing component, this induction quenching equipment ensures uniform and stable hardness—typically maintained within the HRC 55–62 range—thereby enhancing wear resistance and extending the bearing's service life.

8-meter and 1.6-meter CNC gear hobbing machines: Handle gear machining for slewing bearings with internal or external gearing, achieving gear indexing precision that meets industrial heavy-duty standards.

Flaw detection equipment, fatigue load testing platforms, hardness testers, and CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines): A comprehensive quality inspection process is conducted on every high-precision bearing before it leaves the factory.
