The LTZC excavator slewing bearing has been successfully assembled.

In the construction machinery industry, slewing bearings, as the core rotating components of excavators, directly determine the stability, load-bearing capacity, and service life of the entire machine. Recently, LTZC successfully completed precision bearing assembly and passed the overall machine assembly acceptance test for a large-diameter double-row ball slewing bearing customized for an overseas customer. This marks a new milestone for LTZC as a professional slewing bearing supplier in the field of high-end construction machinery slewing bearings.

I. Core Challenges Faced by the Customer Regarding Slewing Bearings

Before finding LTZC, the customer encountered the following problems:

1.Early raceway spalling: The original supplier's products showed pitting and spalling within 800 hours, resulting in severe raceway wear and impacting equipment operating efficiency.

2.High gear ring meshing noise: Insufficient tooth surface machining precision led to meshing mismatch, causing noticeable abnormal noises and jamming during operation.

3.Seal failure allowed dust to enter: The excavator operates in a high-dust environment for extended periods, and the original supplier's seal design was far from effective in preventing dust, leading to sealing and lubrication failure.

The customer urgently needed a long-term, stable slewing bearing supplier and a redesigned bearing seal and lubrication system to ensure stable and efficient operation of the excavator's slewing bearing under complex working conditions.

II. LTZC Customized Excavator Slewing Bearing Solution

 1. Optimized Materials and Heat Treatment: Utilizing 42CrMo integral forgings, undergoing quenching and tempering followed by medium-frequency quenching to ensure the forgings' hardness and toughness, thereby improving impact resistance.

 2. Precision Grinding of Raceways: All raceways are CNC ground to ensure uniform force distribution between the raceway and rollers and precise raceway contact angle.

 3. Double Sealing System: Featuring internal and external double-lip seals and an added dustproof baffle design, this double dustproof design effectively enhances dust protection.

 4. Precision Bearing Assembly Control: Strict control over steel ball grouping and selection, including runout testing of the slewing bearing, and precise grease filling to ensure the bearing's precision level. Each slewing ring undergoes 100% rotational resistance testing before leaving the factory.

IV.How does an excavator swing bearing work?

The excavator's slewing bearing connects the upper and lower chassis via mounting holes. The gear ring meshes with the gears, driving the rolling elements to rotate smoothly 360 degrees within the raceways. The double-row ball structure distributes the load evenly across the upper and lower raceways, significantly reducing contact stress. When the bucket operates, generating a tipping moment, the bearing raceways bear the primary moment load.

V.How to check swing bearing on excavator?

1. Check the axial clearance. Use a dial indicator to measure the upper frame wobble to ensure the slewing bearing clearance is within a reasonable range. If excessive clearance is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection.

2. Check the lubrication status. Regularly replenish the slewing bearing with grease, observing for metal powder.

3. Check the gear ring wear. Observe for pitting on the tooth surface and any abnormal meshing sounds. If the gear ring is severely worn, replace it promptly to avoid safety hazards.

4. Listen for abnormal sounds during rotation. Are there any "clicking" sounds or periodic impact sounds

5. Check the bolt preload. Loose slewing bearing fixing bolts are a common cause of failure.
