Crane Slewing Bearing

LTZC Crane Slewing Bearing——Conversation with LTZC engineers

What slewing bearings are used in cranes?

The selection of slewing bearings (slewing bearings) for cranes depends primarily on the crane type and load rating. The mainstream types are single-row four-point contact ball bearings, double-row eccentric ball bearings, and three-row roller bearings. The following are precise matching guidelines and key points:

Main Type Matching with Crane Type:

Single-row four-point contact ball slewing bearings: The rolling elements and raceways form four-point contact. They are compact, lightweight, and can simultaneously withstand axial force, radial force, and overturning moment. Suitable for: Small and medium-sized truck cranes, tower cranes, jib cranes, and port gantry cranes (light load class).

Double-row eccentric ball bearings:  The two rows of rolling elements are of different sizes. Typically a three-ring structure with upper and lower rows of eccentric steel balls, they offer convenient open assembly and strong resistance to axial force and overturning moment. Suitable for: Medium and large tower cranes, medium-tonnage truck cranes, and port loading/unloading machines.

Three-row roller bearings: These are heavy-duty slewing bearings with a three-ring structure. The upper, lower, and radial raceways are independent, providing line contact load bearing capacity and the strongest overall load-bearing capacity and impact resistance. Compatible with: large tonnage truck cranes, crawler cranes, large port gantry cranes, and marine cranes.
