What is solar tracker slewing drive?

A solar tracking slewing drive is a driving device that tracks changes in the sun's angle. It adjusts the angle of photovoltaic panels and concentrating mirrors according to the sun's azimuth and elevation angles, maximizing the reception of solar radiation energy and thus improving the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic or solar thermal power plants. It is available in both single-axis and dual-axis rotation designs.

How does a solar tracker slewing drive work?

The solar tracking slewing drive device uses a worm gear rotation drive as its core actuating component. Through a control system that receives light from a light sensor, the drive motor rotates the worm gear. The worm gear reducer and torque amplification drive the slewing bearing connected to the photovoltaic support to perform rotational or pitching movements, ensuring the photovoltaic modules are aligned with the sun in real time. The device utilizes the self-locking characteristic of the worm gear to ensure the support does not reverse or sway under harsh conditions such as strong winds, achieving stable, accurate, and safe solar tracking and improving photovoltaic power generation efficiency.
